Learning Coach
Julie is the mother of Shay, a high school student who has attended Minnesota Connections Academy since 2014. Julie is happy that Minnesota Connections Academy’s curriculum is tailored to her daughter’s needs and allows her to receive an education from home, which gives her more flexibility to perform on dance lines and take music lessons.
Why We Chose Minnesota Connections Academy
We learned of Connections Academy through an internet search. We were interested in a more flexible schedule and a more personalized, challenging curriculum. My daughter is involved in two different dance lines and takes piano, guitar, and ukulele lessons outside of school. We love the flexibility with her school so that she can participate in these other activities.

Our Online School Experience
We were very impressed with Connections Academy from the start. It gave us great satisfaction knowing our daughter was getting a great education and in a safe environment. Our daughter was getting bored in her previous school and switching to Connections Academy solved that problem. She now is challenged, driven, and looks forward to school daily.
Algebra is her favorite subject, and math has always been a strong subject for me, so I can help her out when needed. The teachers are excellent, very attentive, and prompt. My daughter and I talk to the teachers by phone regularly to check in and make sure that everything is on track.
My daughter is also in the National Junior Honor Society and loves being a part of that club. She joins random activities and field trips as offered, and I encourage her to reach out to other Connection Academy students.
My Advice for New Families
I would say that choosing Connections Academy is a very good decision for your child and your family. We strongly feel that you “get out what you put into it.” We have had nothing other than a very positive experience.
I believe my daughter is getting well prepared for a bright future. Minnesota Connections Academy has help her become self-motivated, driven, and [allowed her to] excel in her curriculum.
